“I paint landscapes to learn their language and read their pages [...]”

From 13 October 2021 until 9 January 2022 the sale of the Appartamento dei Principi in Palazzo Reale hosts the monographic exhibition dedicated to the work of Tullio Pericoli, (Colli del Tronto, 1936), an Italian artist and designer.

His drawings have appeared in the most important Italian and foreign newspapers and have accompanied stories by Calvino, Levi, Gadda and Soldati. Over the years his pictorial research, started in the early 70s with the series of "geologies", becomes more and more central in his work, and leads him to create exhibitions in galleries and museum institutions with forays also in the theatrical field, who will see him design the sets for some important operas in Italy and abroad.

Promoted and produced by the Municipality of Milan Cultura, Palazzo Reale, Skira Editore and Design Terrae, the exhibition is curated by the art critic Michele Bonuomo, in collaboration with the artist, and created in the staging by Pierluigi Cerri.

With over 150 works, the exhibition aims to be a point of reflection and a tribute to the great career of Tullio Pericoli, an artist with a fruitful and multifaceted activity. In fact, the exhibition itinerary proposes a pictorial synthesis of his two main forms of expression, in particular the landscapes of the last decades and portraits.
